Amendment of the Inter-State Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 1979

The Union Cabinet today gave its approval to amend the title of the Inter-State Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 1979 to ‘Inter State Migrant Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 1979’ by introducing a Bill, namely the Inter-State Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Amendment Bill, 2011 (Appendix-III) (page 6 to 7) in the ensuing session of Parliament.

Sir/Madam,

After a long silence, we are writing to the demand survey respondents of all the above station for the updated information for acquisition of land from concerned state governments on allotment. In this regard, Joint Secretary (HUPA), M/o HUPA has written letter to the concerned Chief Secretary of the state with a follow up letter from the CEO/CGEWHO, subsequently. We are eagerly waiting/expecting for a response in the form invitation to see land offered by the respective state, failing which CGEWHO will try for  land  from private sources floating a turnkey contractor after the necessary approval from the competent authority. These processes may take considerable time to complete which ultimately, lead to announcement of a housing scheme at your desired station.

Post Office Savings Accounts to be taxed from current fiscal

The government has decided to levy tax on the interest obtained on Post Office savings schemes from the current financial year.

The Central Board of Direct Taxes ( CBDT )) has brought out a notification in this regard recently, which stipulates that any interest earned beyond Rs 3,500 (in case of individual accounts) and Rs 7,000 (in case of joint accounts) will be taxable from the running fiscal.

The CBDT-- which is the administrative authority of the Income Tax Department-- has issued the notification to all the tax collection ranges across the country for implementation.

Expected DA from August 2011 to Bank Pensioners

 

EXPECTED INCREASE IN DEARNESS ALLOWANCE PAYABLE TO BANK PENSIONERS

From 1st Aug 2011 to Jan 2012.

As all  are aware the DA for Bank Pensioners,for the next half year is calculated based on Consumer Price Index (IW)figures for the months of  April,May and June.

Labour bureau,Government of India, releases the CPI figures(IW) ( base 2001=100)monthly pertaining to previous months.

CPI.figures for the month of May 2011 has  been released today.  Accordingly the confirmed index figures are as follows:
