Consideration of persons with disabilities for promotion against unreserved vacancies-reg.

Department of Personnel and Training has issued many clarificatory orders on the matter of promotion against unreserved vacancies to disability persons from time to time.

The Union Government has now clarified that, if promotions are made to a Group 'A' or Group 'B' post, which is identified suitable for persons with disability of a specific category, the persons with disability of relevant category in feeder grade, if any, shall be considered for promotion to the post by applying the same criterion as applicable to other persons.

In exercise of the power conferred by the explanation to Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 (XXVI of 1881) read with Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs Notification No. 20/25/56-Pub(I), dated the 8th June, 1957, the Governor is pleased to declare 22nd Shrabana of Bengali Year 1418, (Monday, the 8th August, 2011) a Public Holiday in memory of Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore.
