Quick and Accurate Disbursement of Pension to Ex-Servicemen

For information of Defence Pensioners

Government of India has taken a number of  decisions to improve the benefits of defence pensioners. The most  recent improvements are implementation of the 6th Central Pay Commission Report and further improvements as per Cabinet Secretary Committee’s Report.

2. In order to enable Defence pensioners to know their correct entitlement as a result of various Govt. orders,  the  Controller  General  of  Defence  Accounts  (CGDA)  has  developed  a software  called “Suvigya”.  This software requires some minimum inputs to be provided about the pensioner (e.g. date of discharge/ retirement, rank / group, qualifying service, date of birth, initial pension etc.).  On the basis of this information, “Suvigya” shows the changes in pension as a result of different revisions and the latest pension entitlements.  The software also provides for taking print-out of the result.

Index Numbers of Wholesale Prices in India (Base: 2004-05=100) Review for the month of October, 2011

The official Wholesale Price Index for ‘All Commodities’ (Base: 2004-05 = 100) for the month October, 2011 rose by 0.6 percent to 156.8 (Provisional) from 155.8 (Provisional) for the previous month.

INFLATION

The annual rate of inflation, based on monthly WPI, stood at 9.73% (Provisional) for the month of October, 2011 (over October, 2010) as compared to 9.72% (Provisional) for the previous month and 9.08% during the corresponding month of the previous year. Build up inflation in the financial year so far was 4.88% compared to a build up of 4.84% in the corresponding period of the previous year.
 
Inflation for important commodities / commodity groups is indicated in Annex-1 and Annex-II.
The movement of the index for the various commodity groups is summarized below:-

Promotion to the grade of Supervisor (A/Cs) in CGDA

        Controller General of Defence Accounts Department has issued an office memorandum (No.AN/I/9011/1/Sup (A/Cs)/Vol-VIII/TR-378 to 381 on 8/11/2011) regarding the promotion to the grade of Supervisor (A/Cs).

The order said, the 4 Sr.Auditors as per Annexure "A", who have passed SAS Part-I examination and appointed / promoted as auditors between 1/7/1964 to 31/12/19980, to the grade of Supervisor (A/Cs) in the pay band 2 of Rs.9300-34800 plus Grade Pay of Rs.4800 with immediate effect or from the date of assumption of charge whichever is later in their respective offices as indicated.

The promotion will be subject to the condition that no disciplinary case is pending or nothing adverse against them has since come to notice.

7th pay commission news

VII Pay Commission for Central Govt.Employees should be constituted at the earliest-INDWF

Today the INDWF –Indian National Defence Workers Federation is Celebrating its Golden Jubilee Year in New Delhi. A rally to Talkatora stadium is organized by the Federation as a part of the Golden Jubilee celebration. In which around 10000 of its delegates across India are expected to participate. Sources Close to the INDWF revealed that the Supreme command of the Congress Party Smt. Sonia Gandhi is also expected to participate in the Meeting to be held at Talkatora Stadium in the evening. The Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh, Defence Ministers and Shri.Ragul Gandhi.are also invited to attend the meeting.

A list of around 30 Demands also been published by the Federation to put before the Government in its Meeting.
