Possibility to announce Interim Relief before elections

‘50% DA Merger’ gets replaced by ‘Interim Relief’..!

Finally, the doors have closed on ‘DA merger’. Attempts are now on to welcome ‘Interim Relief’.

As far as we are concerned, the chances of granting interim relief are very bleak. Since the Model Code of Conduct has been enforced, there are no indications of any decisions in this issue. Moreover, in the Terms of Reference of 7th CPC, there is no mention of Interim Relief.

The 7th CPC has invited all the Federations for talks. In that sense, it is difficult to say anything with certainty about Interim Relief.

There is possibility of an Interim Relief only if the 7th CPC comes forward to include it in its recommendations. That too is possible only after the general elections.
