Cadre review cleared by group of ministers
Paving the way for launching a massive recruitment drive to hire around 19,000 tax officials across the country in the next couple of years, the group of ministers on cadre restructuring of income tax department on Monday gave its nod to the proposal of substantially increasing the strength of revenue officials.
These recruitments will take place in a phased manner. While 800 of them will be recruited as Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officers in Group A, remaining over 18,000 will be employed as Group B and Group C officials.

In response to queries received from Pension Fund Managers seeking clarification of clauses noted in Schedule – II of the Investment Management Agreement for Private Sector, the Authority has decided to issue the following clarifications which shall take immediate effect and shall remain valid till further orders; 
1. In terms of revised investment guidelines for private sector NPS, fresh investments in equity related Mutual Funds and Exchange Traded Funds (ETF) are disallowed. 
2. Debt securities selected for investments should have a minimum residual maturity period of three years from the date of investment by the Pension Fund Manager

"The private hospitals under CGHS are primarily empanelled for providing inpatient medical treatment to a CGHS beneficiary. However, CGHS allows follow-up treatment from these hospitals in Post-Operative cases in six major categories namely, Cardio-Vascular Disease, Renal Disease, Neurological Disease, Joint Replacement, Accident cases and Cancer Disease.

Orders for revision of 1/3 restored pension of absorbees, who had drawn lumpsum payment on absorption, were issued vide this Department O.M of even number dated 15/9/2008 As per para 2A of the said OM, the full pension of the absorbees was notionally revised w.e.f. 1.1.2006 in accordance with the instructions contained in this Department OM. No.38/37/08-P&PW(A) dated 1.9.2008. The payment of DR and additional pension to old pensioners is regulated on the basis of the notional full pension.

Subject: Policy on fixing an upper limit of the number of years for which officers can work in the personal staff of the Union Minister in their entire careers.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) had laid down a policy -wherein a ceiling of 10 years in the entire career and a sub-limit of 05 years as PS/OSD within the ceiling of 10 years had been fixed beyond which no person was to be permitted to be appointed in the personal staff of Ministers. This was conveyed in DoP&T’s OM No.31/65/2009-EO(MM-I) dated 04.03.2010 and OM No.31/11/2010-EO(MM-I) dated 13.05.2010. This was reiterated vide Cabinet Secretary’s D.O. No.2/3/2010-EO(MM-I) dated 19.1 1.2012.

The Government has approved the following modifications in the Civil Services Examination, 2013 notified on 5.3.2013: 
1.A candidate is allowed to use any one regional language from the 8th Schedule of the Constitution of India or English as the medium of writing the examination. 
2.Conditionality of a minimum of 25 candidates in that medium and the requirement to have that language as the medium of examination at graduation level has been dropped.
