It has been seen that one of the long time waging demand of raising the retirement age of govt employees has finally caught afire...

Through the Medias and blogging sites re abound with news that the cabinet would announce news regarding the retirement age yet it has not been finalizes.

Even then it has been come to known that a favourable decision would be put forth regarding this issue due to the oncoming Lok Sabha and three state assembly elections.

In India the retirement ages of most of the state government employees range from 58 to 60. This is low in comparison to the government employees of foreign nation.

We shall see the effect of raising the retirement age in the following passage

Advantages :-
1. If only 7th pay commission would be implemented in the year 2016 those retiring in the year span 2014 -2016 would be greatly benefitted.
2. Economically the employees would be in better position due to this rise of the age of superannuation
3. The pension amount and the other beneficiaries would also increase along side
4. There this chance of imparting fruitful experience to the subordinates or new recruit by those benefitted by rise in retirement age
5. More over there is chance of getting an additional MACP by the central govt employees
6. A good health psychological effect would prevail in their minds due to this boon of rising their retirement age and thus removing their fatigue

Disadvantages :-
1. Promotion would be greatly affected due to no retirement in the long span
2. Unemployment would come in to being due to the increase in retirement age
3. Output of work would be greatly affected if the retirement age of unhealthy employees would be increased.

This announcement would not be received in praise among those searching for employment in general, Moreover among the retirement employees this decision is receiving a mixed response as some welcome while others detest it

General life expectancy should always be taken into consideration while deciding on the age of superannuation.

Retirement age should be reduced to 55 years, so as to give employment to young people.
It seems to be a hazardous decision by Congress Govt. Its implementation shall not only further heightened the unemployment problem but also block the promotion prospects of serving personnel. Serving personnel demanding its implementation should think judiciously and should not be selfish. They should think about their subsequent generation which includes their own children. It is quite surprising that how they are thinking so and how Govt. is ready to accept it. The proposal should be turned down and retirement age be reduced to 55 years.

This greatly affects the youths creating unemployment in large sum.As could be seen the aged will not be in a position to work. Let them take rest after 58 itself. Atleast the age limit for appointing new ones should be increased to 30/35 or otherwise should provide the benefits on par with govt. employees, if appointed on contract basis.

politicians even work at the age of 70-80.how many posts are there in government, so youth will not be effected.everything will be differed by two years and money)GPF, Gratuity, etc for retiring employees will be with Govt for two years. not a BAD decision.

When there is so much unemployment in the country the Govt should not consider at all the increase in retirement age. Even consider bringing back it to 58 years. I think Govt is doing this for top berucrats.

Not all the employees are healthy and some of the people are not even able to properly put their signature. Hence, enhancement of retirement age may lead to inefficiency and curtailment of employment opportunity to younger generation.

Increasing the age to 62 is an anti employees policy by the present Government. Please don't accept the increase in age. Accepting the increasing means otherwise we don't want to receive pension we want only family Pension.

Instead of raising age to 62 years the entry level max age should be increased and whosoever joins govt.service should be given some fixed tenure say 25-30 years. 30 years employment is always sufficient to have good standard of life.

Instead of raising the retirement age it should be decreased by two years. From this government get better and efficient worker and also BIG relief in the economy

Not a good proposal, especially those who are working in Technical positions.

Increasing retirement age to 62 is really appreciable Because most of the employees appointed in later age i.e. 30-35 years and their marriages mostly likely to be happened in 33-35 years and getting issue to them also very late i.e. 35-40 years so most of the employees children are studying at the age of 60 years and employee has enough responsibility after retirement if they get two years enhancement really they will be out of tensions in older age and it will help his family to some extent. However one politician can work even beyond the age of 80 years then why employee can not work up to the age of 62 which is very reasonable age.Young people will think on their side only and they ask to reduce the retirement age to 55 years which is unscientific, they have to think about the difficulties of retired employees who is having enough responsibility in his old age and comment over this issue.

Increasing retirement is good for cghs/chs central university doctors as most of them will be halthy and fit in their 60 years . They any way tend to continue medical practise till late 60s. their expertise in medical field should be taken in to consideration.most healthy doctors continue to practise till 70 years also.
