Digital Life Certificate for Pensioners; More Than One Crore Pensioners May be Benefitted by the Scheme Under the ‘Digital India Mission’, Government has launched ‘Jeevan Pramaan – an Aadhaar based Digital Life Certificate’ for pensioners on 10.11.2014. This facility provides an option to the pensioners to submit their life certificate digitally by authenticating biometrically using UIDAI Database. The pension disbursing agencies integrated with the Jeevan Pramaan Portal will get access to digital life certificate. The pensioners need not go to the pension disbursing agency in person.

Amendment of CCS Rules for Persons with Disabilities The Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) has issued a fresh set of Instructions to all Ministries/Departments granting relaxation in the Central Civil Services (Leave) Rules, 1972 for Disabled employees. In an Office Memorandum dated February 25, 2015, the DoPT has reiterated that the disabled employees will be entitled to pay, promotion and other service benefits even if they cannot be taken back to the post they were holding or are adjusted or kept waiting until a suitable vacancy arises.

Central Government Employees to Protest outside the Parliament on April 28; Plan for Indefinite Strike Central government employees have announced that they are going to protest outside the Parliament on April 28 against the Government’s decision to not hike the income tax slab. There are plans to launch an indefinite strike in July. Protests were held at the Income Tax office in Nungambakkam on behalf of the Central Government Employees Federation, against the Government’s decision to not hike the minimum tax levels this time. The protests were led by the federation’s general secretary, M. Duraipandian. Union leaders like J. Ramamurthy and S. Sundaramurthy presided over the protests.

A meeting was held at the Income Tax office premises yesterday by the Central Government Employees Sammelan, during which the recently announced budget was analyzed and criticized. The protests were led by the Sammelan’s general secretary, Duraipandi. While addressing the gathering, he said, “The economic report submitted by the Government is not in favour of the masses. During the election campaigns, BJP promised to reduce inflation, bring back black money, and to eradicate unemployment.

Granting of Para Military Service Pay (PMSP) to Central Armed Police Force personnel at par with Army personnel Special Pay for Paramilitary Personnel at PAR with Army As informed by Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Assam Rifles (AR), the detail of strength of CAPFs and AR is as under: A proposal for grant of Para Military Service Pay (PMSP) to Central Armed Police Force personnel at par with Army personnel has been referred to the 7th Central Pay Commission vide MHA O.M. dated 05.11.2014. The rate of Para Military Service Pay requested is @ Rs. 2,000/- per month to Personnel Below Officer Rank (PBOR) and Rs.6,000/- per month to officers upto Dy. Inspector General of Police rank, based on the rates of Military Service Pay. State Armed Police Forces are under the administrative control of State Governments. As such, present proposal does not include State Armed Police Forces.

CRIS will make necessary changes in the software for this purpose under intimation to all Zonal Railways as well as Board’s office. There will be no change in case of certain day time Express Trains like Taj Express, Gomti Express, special trains, etc. where lower time limits for advance reservations are at present in force. There will also be no change in case of the limit of 360 days for foreign tourists. Board desire that the above change may be given wide publicity well in advance of its implementation.
